Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Therapy or Counseling?

Quick answer: No. If you are looking for a licensed psychologist, therapist, or counselor to diagnose or treat mental health issues, you can search for a therapist here.

Long answer: While all our programs are deeply therapeutic, we do not offer professional mental health therapy or counseling services that require licensure under WA State law. We do not diagnose, treat, or prepare treatment plans for clients. Our services are educational, supportive, and/or experiential in nature.

Although some partner facilitators we work with do have professional licenses in mental health, we do not offer program structures that require licensure for safety, ethical, legal, and liability reasons.

Rest assured that any program offered here is by a trained professional in their area of expertise or specific certification, such as the ACGRS by the Grief Recovery Institute.® or the CTRC by the IAOTRC. (International Association for Trauma Recovery Coaching)

Important: If you or someone you know is suicidal, or in an emotional or mental health crisis, Dial 988 to be connected to the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline for immediate support. (More emergency links can be found on the footer of this website.)

Do you accept Health Insurance?

As trained educators, facilitators, consultants and designers, our services are not covered or in-network with any insurance companies at this time.

However, some HSA’s may cover our services, but please inquire into your specific plan.

For Trauma Recovery Coaching, the IAOTRC is working with current legislation to have Certified Trauma Coaches covered by Medicare and health insurance carriers, but this will take some time.

Do you have a Code of Ethics?

Absolutely. You can check them out here.

Are Facilitators Mandatory Reporters?

Yes and No. Some facilitators are bound by their licensure and are required by law to report any knowledge of or suspected abuse, abandonment, neglect, or financial exploitation of vulnerable adults or children.

Due to the sensitivity and nature of our work, we require facilitators that are not mandatory reporters be Permissive or Voluntary Mandatory Reporters when working with Studio Saudade’s clients.

Trauma Recovery Coaches certified through the IAOTRC are Voluntary Mandatory Reports as per our professional Code of Ethics.
